Appleby Car-Free Street Festival May 31

Every year, the Appleby Car-Free Street Festival seems to get better and better.

This year, the fourth annual Appleby Car-Free Street Festival takes place Sunday, May 31 from 1 to 5 p.m. Burlington's Appleby Line will be closed between New Street and Fairview Street to make way for the family-friendly fun-filled event.

The festival includes pony rides, the Burlington Teen Tour Band, booths from local businesses and organizations, bouncy castles, live entertainment on two stages, face-painters, martial arts demonstrations, a classic car display and more.

“It’s incredible to see the way that the community comes together, and how they combine healthy living, safety and good-natured fun,” said Ward 4 Burlington Councillor Jack Dennison.

“There really is nothing like it,” said Ward 5 Burlington Councillor Paul Sharman. “Everyone who enters the festivals gets caught up in the community spirit and excitement.”

The festival is made possible through the generous sponsors, including:

TD Canada Trust, Pineland Baptist Church, Burlington Alliance Church, Revera Retirement Living – Appleby Place, CIBC, Jackson’s Landing, Bank of Montreal (BMO), Dairy Queen, EarthFresh, Burlington Teen Tour Band, Bertin Stables and the

City of Burlington.
