Pioneer pledge challenge for flood relief

Pioneer Energy will match the next $25,000 in donations to the Burlington Community Foundation Flood Disaster Relief Committee.

“We strongly believe it is important for successful businesses to give back to the communities in which we live, work and raise our families,” says Tim Hogarth, Chairman and CEO, Pioneer Energy. “The flood

in Burlington was an unforeseen disaster that requires the entire community to rally together and support those in greatest need. We hope the Pioneer Pledge Challenge inspires others to join our efforts.”

So far, the Burlington Community Foundation Flood Disaster Relief Committee has raised $665,000 in cash and $100,000 of in-kind support for a total of $765,000.

“The potential of this creative gift by Pioneer Energy is simply outstanding,” says Ron Foxcroft, Chair, BCF Flood Disaster Relief Committee. “We are so grateful that the Hogarth family is supporting our efforts with such leadership and hope it inspires others to take the Pioneer Pledge Challenge and pay it forward.”

On Sept. 30, the Assistance for Losses and Damages funding application was made available for affected residents. It is designed to assist victims in greatest need with more extensive losses and damages, and who were either uninsured or underinsured for their building and/or contents.

Homeowners and tenants, small businesses, non-profit organizations and farms can apply. Applicants are required to fill out a form found at http://www.burlingtonfoundation.org/Burlington-Flood-Relief-Make-A-Claim.

Residents can also call 905 639 0744 ext.221 to arrange for an Assistance for Losses and Damages Package to be mailed, picked up or delivered. The Committee is committed to assisting people in completing the forms to expedite the claims process if that is requested.
