Appleby Street Festival this Sunday September 24
Finally, perfect weather is predicted for the Appleby Street Festival this Sunday September, 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
So come out, bring your family and friends, and pick up some free swag and enjoy the food and entertainment. Appleby Line will close from New Street to Fairvew Street starting 11:30 a.m. to make way for more than 5,000 people, who are expected to attend the free event.
Now in its sixth year, the festival was held in June but it always seemed to be rained out. Organizers changed it to September thinking that the weather could be better. This year they might be right.
The family-fun community event bringing families, churches, businesses, schools and organizations together by creating an open street for the neighbourhood to gather and participate in activities, a marketplace and demonstrations. More than 76 vendors have registered and will be set-up along Appleby Line.
This year's line up of local talented musicians at the North Stage near Fairview Street include:
1 p.m.-1:50 p.m. -- Jordan Haller
2 p.m.-2:50 p.m. -- Mary O’Malley and a few very talented friends
3 p.m.-3:20 p.m. -- Tori Sutherland
3:30 p.m.-3:50 p.m. -- Hayley Verrall
4 p.m.-5 p.m. -- The Undercover Band
