Appleby United Back Pack Program receives $1,800
Thanks to the generosity of the community on July 10, Halton Police in partnership with Frank Scorniaenchi from Fortino’s at 2515 Appleby Line had its most successful Cram-A-Cruiser event to date.
Filling eight police vehicles, the event helped stock the shelves at Our Community Cares and St. Christopher’s Church. A total of $900 was also raised for the Appleby United Church Back Pack Program, which was also generously matched by Youtfest.
Gail Graham from Appleby United Church was presented with an $1,800 cheque for the Back Pack Program, which will be used to fill 120 of the 650 back to school bags needed for the 2016 Back Pack Program. Thank you to Keith Strong (YouthFest), Frank Scorniaenchi (Fortino’s) and the ongoing support of our local community for your continued generosity.
