Wedgewood townhouse development planned
The old Pinedale Plaza on Wedgewood will be torn down to make way for 19 new townhouses.
City Council approved the development application back in 2014 to permit the development of this site. Public notice signs on the property were required for the re-zoning process, which has been completed.
These signs were covered in graffiti and have been removed. The developer is now in the site plan process phase. This is not a public process, and there is no public notification requirement under The Planning Act.
The process has dragged on, mostly because the developer has been required to submit multiple re-submissions for site plan approval. This is quite a common occurrence. Presumably life would be a lot easier for everyone if it was possible for a developer to submit applications that met all requirements the first time.
