April 13 Halton Job Fair near Appleby Line
Looking for work? Halton Region is having its second 2016 job fair on Wednesday, April 13 from 1-5 p.m. at the Burlington Convention Centre, 1120 Burloak Drive, Burlington. The event is free and bring your résumé and prepare to meet with more than 50 local employers.
“Halton Region’s unemployment rate is significantly lower than both the provincial and national rates and we’ll continue partner with local Halton employers to provide opportunities for job seekers to keep our economy strong,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “By attracting and retaining jobs, and connecting job seekers with employers at our job fairs, we’re keeping Halton a great place to live and work.”
Employers participating in this year’s job fair are from a range of industries including technology, government, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and healthcare, and Halton Region is expecting approximately 1,000 skilled and motivated job seekers to attend.
Every year, the two Employment Halton offices in Oakville and Milton offer a comprehensive range of programs and services to more than 8,000 job seekers and over 200 employers. Employment Halton also provides extensive services to the region’s employers to support their recruiting efforts with annual averages of more than 250 direct placement matches.
As a service provider for Employment Ontario, Employment Halton offers resource centre services, one-on-one job search support, training incentives for employers, an online job board at haltonjobs.ca, apprenticeship opportunities and programs such as Second Career which provides assistance to participants as they retrain for a new career.
