Christmas Miracle Drive 2015

Despite Burlington’s wealth and prosperity, poverty is on the rise.

Local families in need are often overlooked especially around the Holidays. Local groups like the Burlington Alliance Church at the corner of Appleby and New are trying to change that through its Christmas Miracle Drive.

A week before Christmas, the church sent more than 540 gifts including toys, clothing, skateboards, electronics, gift cards and 90 food hampers to local families. Pasteur Sharlene Henderson would like to thank everyone who purchased gifts and the 150 volunteers, who filled the Church’s sanctuary to wrap presents and make the event a success.

These people included:

  • Students and teachers from Nelson and Bateman High Schools and Tecumseh Public School

  • Mayor Rick Goldring, Paul Sharman (Ward 5), Jack Dennison (Ward 4) and his assistant Francine Grimshire

  • Volunteers from Burlington Alliance Church, Pineland Baptist Church and New Street Christian Reformed Church

  • Individuals from the Central Canadian District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church
