Sept. 19 Bronte Creek Kidney Walk
Did you know that one in ten Canadians are living with a kidney disease?
To help raise funds for kidney research and programs, Bronte Creek Provincial Park will play host to the Halton Region Kidney Walk on Saturday, September 19. The events is one of Canada’s largest community event dedicated to raising funds that help support Canadians living with kidney disease.
The Bronte Creek Kidney Walk is part of more than forty other events taking place throughout September in communities large and small. Kidney Walks take place nationwide, raising funds to support Kidney Foundation programs and leading kidney research.
Walks provide an occasion for patients on dialysis, organ transplant recipients, their families, living donors, the medical community, and the public to come together to raise awareness about the importance of kidney health and organ donation and to support the many programs and services.
The Kidney Walk is a great way for families, friends and colleagues to come together to show support. It’s where the kidney community gathers to show their unwavering commitment to kidney health and improved lives for all people touched by kidney disease.
If you're interested in showing support, meet at the park's Beckon Shelter for registration starting at 10 a.m. for the five km walk starting at 11 a.m. To register please visit www.kidneywalk.ca.
