Pan Am Games road closures near Appleby Line & Burlington athletes


The Pan Am Games are here, so plan ahead to avoid road closures close to Appleby Line. There will be cycling trial events on Regional Road 25 and Britannia Road in Milton during the following dates:

  • July 21, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

  • July 22, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • August 12, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

  • August 13, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Halton Waste Management Site will also be closed on July 22, 2015 but curbside waste will be collected.

The Games officially kicked off in Toronto on July 10. During the Games, Milton will host track cycling events at the Cisco Milton Pan Am/Parapan Am Velodrome. Burlington will also host a soccer practice at City View Park.

Eight Burlington athletes are competing in the Games and they are:

Mark Oldershaw, Canoe

Kate Psota, Baseball

Brady Reardon, Kayak

Ashley Stephenson, Baseball

The Games will be the largest multi-sport event ever held in Canada with approximately 7,700 athletes representing 41 nations across Latin America, South America, the Caribbean and North America.
