Orchard Community Park April 4 egg hunt
If you're planning to attend the Starting Point Church Egg Hunt on Saturday April 4, 10 a.m. – noon at Orchard Community Park, make sure you arrive early. Last year, organizers were overwhelmed.
The park is located north of Alexander’s Public School off Sutton Drive near Appleby Line in Burlington. The event is free but the church asks that each guest bring a donation for the Partnership West Food Bank.
According to organizers, this year's event includes:
An Easter egg hunt and loot bags for up to 800 kids
Refreshments donated by Tim Hortons & McDonalds
Door Prizes for kids, teens, & adults
Food drive with the Partnership West Food Bank
The Burlington Fire Department
Face Painting, Carnival Games, & More!
The first 800 kids will be given tickets to participate in the event. This year, there will be two courses with enough plastic eggs to serve 70 kids at a time to help reduce wait times that were experienced last year.
Kids must find 10 eggs in their assigned colours before receiving a prize. Prizes include a grab bag of chocolate that includes 15-20 foil wrapped chocolate eggs, a kinder surprise egg, and Easter candy.
In the event of inclement weather, organizers have rented a double gym at the nearby Haber Recreation Centre where there will be a scaled down version of the event. It will also include an inflatable, face painting, refreshments, door prizes, and chocolate giveaways for 800 kids aged 12 and under.
Other upcoming Starting Point Church events include:
Victoria Day Fireworks Festival -- May 16, 2015
Canada Day Inflatables at Spencer Smith Park -- July 1 2015
Starting Point Day Camp for kids aged 5-12 -- July 21-24 and July 27-31, 2015
Orchard Fall Festival -- September 2015
