St. Patrick's Day RIDE Checks
Planning to celebrate St Paddy’s Day at your favourite Irish pub this year? If you’re driving, don’t press your luck. Use a designated driver.
You should expect to see several Halton Regional Police RIDE programs in effect. There will also be a higher than normal uniform presence patrolling licensed establishments educating everyone about impaired driving and enforcing the laws to ensure safe roads.
This officers will be also be focusing their efforts on conducting bar checks at licensed establishments and reminding staff of their responsibilities under the Liquor License Act, and encouraging staff to call police should they suspect a patron is about to drive a motor vehicle while impaired.
Informative St. Patrick’s Day fliers will be handed out at RIDE checks to educate to spread the word about the consequences of impaired driving.
