Nelson High raises $2,100 for Carpenter Hospice
Nelson High School Auto Club raised more than $2,100 at its annual auto show on May 16 for Carpenter Hospice.
Under sunny skies car enthusiasts gathered at the school's parking lot to view classic to modern vehicles. The Burlington Fire Department also demonstrated a vehicle rescue. The goal behind the event was to raise awareness and educate the public on current day issues dealing with safety on the roads. A car wash and car judging competition also took place.
Grade 9-12 students from the Transportation Technology Program were responsible for designing the auto show flyer, creating trophies, ticket sales, making signs, washing cars, collecting prizes and organizing parking for the event.
